Another successful event in Kirel!

Today we held another All Guilds Meeting in Kirel while the rest of the Cavern was having the Second Anniversary Celebrations, with Ghaelen streaming some wonderful, relaxing tunes.

Once again, we passed 50 people in Kirel, but luckily, we were been able to convince Chogon to raise the Population Limit to 200 awhile back, so there has been no problem and everyone could attend.

Annabelle: Annabelle is putting more time between releases of her Marker Quests because they are becoming harder and harder. She is currently working on the 5th release called "The D'ni Cavern", which will feature Quests in neighborhoods, Kirel, K'veer, the 6 Pubs, and the Great Zero. It should be ready in 2 weeks, and then 6th and 7th releases should follow quite soon. Read more

Do you remember OHB? Do you remember his Uru Localization Project (ULP)?

Well, quite a while ago, OHB announced that the ULP website was going to be improved with lots of new features, new graphics and more. We have waited for everything to be ready, and finally, the new ULP version is out and ready to be used!

It's called GULP, and it has new "social" functions for following the development of the projects translations and for tracking your contributions. The green and white style, which was made by Tanshin, is also very clean and welcoming.

The Guild of Writers is also working hard on the Client and on Content Licencing, with OpenUru, to make multi-language Uru a reality using all the translations on GULP!

As many of you may know, the creator and maintainer of Drizzle and the original UAM database of Ages, Dustin (aka ddb174),  has retired from the community some months ago, and since then Drizzle, the Uru Age Manager and the UAM Shard were left without a maintainer.
Drizzle is not being developed anymore, but it still works. You can still download Ages with UAM but new Ages are not going to be added to its list. And the UAM Shard just works, but nothing more.

This has started to become a problem just lately, when new ages have been finished by some Age Writers and they had no way to deliver them to the non-technically-expert Uru Community, because they couldn't be added to the list of UAM.

This is why today diafero announced a new UAM Database, the Deep Island UAM Database.

How does this work? Well it's easy, it work the same way the original UAM database worked: you just have to open your Drizzle, go the the UAM tab, click on the Change Server button and insert the address of the new database:

Confirm the change and push the Get Latest List button to update your list of Ages. And there you go! Everything is ready for downloading the new ages.

The Open Source Uru community has finished the work on a new update for MOULa!

OpenUru.org announced that they have locked the update (meaning, no more changes can be done) and Cyan Worlds has been notified that it's ready. Now everything is up to Cyan: to decide which parts to include in MOULa, to test it with their internal workflow and finally to publish it.
Right now Cyan's schedule and times are still unknown.

Join Ghaelen D'Lareh and the Guild of Healers in a retrospective journey through the closing, waiting, and expectations of the re-opening of the Cavern from 2010!

Through music and voice, relive this time with those explorers who experienced it. If you were there, add your thoughts and memories of the Cavern re-opening, and Ghaelen will include them in the Opening Ceremony program. The Theme of the Opening Ceremony is A Fall through the Chasm: This will involve the loss, the waiting, the hope of a renewed cavern. It will include dedications, tributes, and a silent vigil to commemorate the loss of our home, family, and friends. In essence, we fell through the chasm, grieved, then hoped to come through the other side to a renewed place.

The Theme of the Closing Ceremony is Welcome Home!: As in previous years, we welcome those we have recently lost and those new explorers who have joined us since February of 2011. This will be a joyful ceremony as we celebrate the continuance of our home for another year and the fun of creating new memories to share next February. Following the fun-filled events of the week as it does, you can expect several rounds of /shout and /cheer.
 

The music, dedications, a tribute, and a vigil will take us through the days during which we lost our beloved Cavern Home. We will also remember past and recent community members who have left us and pause for a silent vigil should some explorers wish to individually visit the memorial in the Kahlo Pub. Finally, we remember the hope that someday we could go home again. That hope includes the continuance of our home well into the "current" future years. Read more

Wear your Guild of Greeters shirt from Kirel to show your support and head on over to the Guild of Greeters Pub (found in the City Locations tab of the Nexus) for a night of questions that will test your meddle against your fellow explorers!

Questions will range from visual picture questions, history questions, family tree questions and much much more!

Today Cyan Worlds, specifically Mark DeForest (a.k.a. Chogon), has committed some code to the CWE and MOULSCRIPT repositories (which are the places where the code of the Client is kept).

The Localization Editor has been added to the sources. This was unintentionally omitted from the original source distribution. Thanks Chogon!

MOULSCRIPT Notes:
Minkata Sparklie fix from D'Lanor. This is in concert with Cyan's internal fix to Minkata.

As you can see there are some interesting things: first of all the long awaited fix of Minkata's Sparkly made by D'Lanor and Cyan Worlds. Then we can see a change in the Client itself for adding a Donate button to the login screen of MOULa (remember MOULa survives only with donations!), then a fix made by Christian Walther to the Python code and the Localization Editor, which apparently has something do to with the possibility of translating CWE content in other languages.

We would like to remind all of you that this is "only" a commit on the repositories where the code is kept, the MOULa program (client) has not yet been updated so you won't see these changes in MOULa yet. We will publish more news when this will happen, probably after the code has been tested.

In honor of this achievement, various groups have banded together to “lay the groundwork” to create a series of small events into a full-blown festival. Simon (Ki# 05495449 ) has once again been asked by Alexander to assemble a team of volunteers to begin a methodical search of the various Ages. This meeting will focus upon important new revelations about Inshir along with the Investigation Team's hunt for the four keys.

The meeting will be on Saturday, January 28th at 13:00 KI Time (3pm EST / 9pm CET) in Alexander Rush's Hood for anyone interested in joining the search.
